Front End JavaScript Developer £35-50K

Job description

Are you passionate about front end technology and the very best intuitive UI? Any chance you live in Cornwall or really want to live here? We have a fantastic opportunity to work on a greenfield build and you'll be the the go to person for all matters front end!  

 

You will be part of a team that is building a market leading Electronic Records Management System (ERMS) to completely replace an existing product. The solution will be built using the latest web architecture standards, including open APIs and a service-oriented approach. This development requires the very best of intuitive UI design so that the implementation, configuration and usage of the system support a self-service model. The tech stack will be a ReactJS front end talking to a C# probably dotnetcore based back end. Your team will be 4 x .NET Developers, a Tester, a Scrum Master and YOU?! The other Developers will be full stack so they will have varying front end skills but we need someone who knows their stuff and is passionate about it!

 

Whilst you will work in this small self-organising team, you'll be part of our wider company which is 100 Developers from 18 different countries, all now based in Cornwall. We’re a really friendly bunch, intelligent, inquisitive and we all want to do the right thing with software development. Not only will you get to guide the UI for this amazing build, but you will get to do it in the stunning county of Cornwall. Our offices are 5 miles from the beach and some of the most amazing coastline in the UK. Cornwall’s tech scene has been quietly growing over the last decade but momentum has really gained pace over the last couple of years. We are home to some fantastic companies all hiring great tech talent, and now, our airport is home to the UK's first spaceport in partnership with Virgin Orbit. Another great boost for Cornwall.

Requirements

Essential experience and skill requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience of working as a professional web developer
  • Experience of working with React JavaScript frameworks such as React/Backbone.js
  • Solid understanding of fundamental web technologies – HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
  • Experience of using Git or similar version control systems
  • You write clean, secure code
  • Experience of building scalable, rich, user interfaces
  • Writing API based applications in JavaScript

 

Desirable experience:

  • Experience with .NET ideally C# & MVC
  • Configuring package and bundle managers - npm, Webpack
  • CSS pre-processing and post-processing
  • Experience of working in cross-functional agile teams with continuous delivery in mind
  • Testing JavaScript applications and working in a CD/CI environment
  • Understanding of UX design principles
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring
  • Working in an Agile team, pair programming, and client meetings/workshops
  • A keen interest to learn new technologies and frameworks within the Front End development ecosystem
