Full Stack .NET Developer £40-45K

Job description

Full Stack .NET Developer £40-45K

You might not think of Cornwall when you think about developing your tech career, but you'd be surprised at the tech scene here! We work with global clients and some of our teams are releasing multiple times a day across multiple regions. We're continuously improving and striving to be better. Moving to Cornwall is definitely a lifestyle change if you haven't lived here before, but not at the expense of compromising your career. We honestly feel like we have it pretty good!

We are just over 100 people from 18 different countries and we like to have fun at work. We have a very laid back feel with a relatively flat structure, small self organising teams of 2-7 people. There's no pressure to work extra hours to churn out more and more code. Our culture and environment is dedicated to making people happy at work. There's lots of pair programming and mobbing, our rooms are set up to allow people to do this and we love the way it works for us.

You will be joining a high performing team of developers in our Cornwall office and will need to travel to the client site occasionally. We are developing the customer facing web portal for our client. The application is written using React for the front-end and uses a mixture of WCF and WebApi services at the back-end. We are in the process of migrating the application from an on-premise data centre to Microsoft Azure and adding new features to reduce the need for customers to contact the call centre to complete their tasks.

We have embraced agile ways of working and are fans of TDD for new code. We are looking for someone who can join the team to build software that we can be proud of. You will be responsible for implementing code across the full stack of the application.

Requirements

Due to our timescales you must be eligible to work in the UK, or in the UK with a visa which we can takeover if necessary.

Essential experience and skill requirements:
  • Good understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Knowledge of ASP.NET Web Api and WCF service development
  • Knowledge of Agile development methods and practices
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests
  • Experience working effectively in a small team

Desirable experience:
  • Experience building public facing React web applications
  • Experience using a TDD approach to software development
  • Experience of using BDD
  • Source control using Git
  • Experience of Azure / migration to Azure
  • Experience with building or working with automated continuous delivery pipelines would be an advantage

The closing date for this role is 14th June 2019. We recruit on a rolling basis and fill our vacancies as soon as we find people who fit our culture and meet the skills requirements. This means that whilst we have a closing date on all of our roles, we may offer the role to someone before the end date, so we recommend that you apply as soon as possible.
